little bob Posted 7 May , 2019 Share Posted 7 May , 2019 The Great War Medal Collectors Companion vol1 "MM Gazette No 66 London Gazette 20 August 1919. No. 66 carries Schedule numbers 254,600 to 254,999 range. A number of awards in this gazette appear to be for gallant conduct over a period of time, rewarding those who had performed consistently well. on the whole, between September 1st and November 11th 1918. A number of awards are prefaced in the Peace Honours Gazette in the Routine Orders of the 14th Division on 17/2/1919." The dates seem way out regarding J Cassidy. George Rayner Posted 7 May , 2019 Share Posted 7 May , 2019 Perhaps he is attributed an M.M. by CWGC incorrectly because all his information seems to fit-other than name John/James and number 4685/4686 and date of death 2/3 Jan 1918!! Hmmmmmmmmmmm George Thanks for that look-up Bob
