Back to David Condon for a moment, medal entitlement passed to his widow, Death Certificate states bachelor, confused me.

Pension claimed by his mother, Ellen.

(I'm off to court now for a sitting so I'll look back in this afternoon once I've finished)

Casualty lists show this:

Pte Corrigan P 6608 R Irish Regt

reported Missing

Daily List Date15th February 1915

Report Received Date20th December 1914

Doesn't death cert suggest man was shrapnel wounded 3 months befor his death in Dec 1917 ?

I didn't read it that way but you could well be correct. I thought it indicated 3 months in the workhouse.

This man was discharged in 3/1915 according to medal records. So more negative information perhaps

'twas Christmas day in the workhouse....

P Corrigan 6608 RIRegt also appears in CasList 26/11/14, report dated 24/10/14 as wounded but his name spelt Carrigan and noted as Royal Victoria Hospital Netley.

re P Corrigan

I don't think we have properly connected this one yet ?  What does that mean after his Regt in Death Register  's a d 268' ?

Terry says 'We need a military service record or similar. I’ll see if anything is around. Shame to let him go.'
