Thank you kindly Paul. Guerin/Guerins was a difficult one to be sure. Hanrahan's folder3 card disability section is blank, sad to see.

Thank you again for digging this info out for me, I really appreciate it greatly.

Tom.

James GUERINS, 2685, Royal Munster Fusiliers.

Pension ledger card at WFA/Fold3

image.png.df5a612b8f318ffd45e2ae027edc0532.png

The transcription/indexing/tagging of his surname by Fold3 was poor - now corrected. https://www.fold3.com/image/645806065?terms=james,2685

Date of death, 23/12/19  Make what you will of that cause etc.

Joseph HANRAHAN, WR 353844, Royal Engineers - a tiny bit more from this pension card, abstract posted earlier above, at WFA/Fold3 shows:

Refusal 13/12/21 for Miss Christina Nangle (Sister), 19 Meath St, Dublin   https://www.fold3.com/image/645805608?terms=joseph,353844

So it rather seems even the MoP weren't sure about cause/linkage of death and/or any dependancy by his sister.

Don't think it will help his cause any more I fear.

Thank you kindly Matlock. Going through his records I find that the Maude we were looking for is actually Mary Maude Guerin, born 1891.

Discharged April, 1918.

Maybe I am reading this wrong, maybe his sons father Martin was ex-Inniskillings and not someone who died?

Feck, back to the drawing board, sorry about that. I will delete all this shortly. He died in 1944.

Good morning again all.

Me again.

This lad is tying up my morning and FMP does not help much. I would put money on this being the same lad. He died in the military hospital, so he should be in the CWGC, but no he is not. Can you help please? My guess is he is 476675 Labour Corps, 4702 R.M.F. but I cannot prove it. Can you help please?

Its gone terribly terribly quiet in here. As you can see these are the most difficult ones but I would hate to  pass them by for want of one more chance to be properly remembered.

This lad has us beat. Can you help with this one please?

Hi Tom, hope you don't mind my throwing this in, but this is a local lad in Lucan where I live:

IFCP was mentioned regarding Gerald and I have a likely local cemetery he may be buried in, in an unmarked plot.

Is he on a list anywhere to be accepted for commemoration? I think @jdoyle suggested his inclusion.

Outstanding.  Thank you Tom.

I'll await results and use my Council connections to see if I can find his plot. Hopefully a headstone might result.

Hi Tom,

Looked for Timothy Pate but I'm drawing a blank.

FMP have a couple of pre-war service records for a Michael Quinn from Tuam, not sure if he's your guy but that's all I can find.

No bother Dave, happy to help. The grave register is crucial. The very best of luck with your project!

Hello Paul, thank you kindly for the look up. To be honest I have nothing to connect them, I would love to. Perhaps a fodler3 card with date of death would nail him down. As I said in the past these last stragglers are the ones that have us beaten, unfindable, and this is the final trawl of the death certificates hoping give them one last final shot at remembrance.

Kind regards.

 Tom.

One more if I may pleas lads and lassies.

David Sullivan, Ballincollig, ex soldier, a single man died after discharge at Ballincollig, County Cork aged 39 from cerebral softening one year six months syncope two days certified. His brother J O'Sullivan, Ballincollig was present at death.

He may have been discharged around June 1918. Note his brother uses the 'O' in O'Sullivan. I cannot find him, can you help please?

Best guess is Royal Munster Fusiliers.
