2 WFA cards re Sgt Charles Kelly. Sgt. Royal Engineers. Nok mother Sarah. Her adress is 1 Pembroke Place - she is aged 47 on the card

On card says 178116 the other 198116

Looks like she lost another son John Jospeh Kelly - Leinsters 10744. DoD 31/3/17.

https://www.fold3.com/image/645807277

Both relate to mother's claim and are short of discharge details.

edit -

There is a third one showing he was at same address and discharge date of 26/8/19. No cause details

However, as Bob has shown we know it from his SWB roll

Managed to shoot himself in the arm in Oct 1917

Medal roll shows ex 11330 RDF. Pair only

I think I understand you now George. Why am I posting death certs from 1920? There are some death certs for people who died not registered until the year after. I am sure there are more 1920 deaths to come that are registered in 1921. I have saved all my death certs by year of register.

Kiely has a shed load of service papers on Ancestry. Cannot find on FMP at the moment. He was demobilised in March 1919 rather than discharged unfit. Nothing of import on 2 WFA cards. Widow applied for a pension I think.

Michael Kelly

https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=S2/GBM/MH106/MH106-1465/0015&parentid=GBM/MH106/P2/442995

shows he was in 4 Stationary Hospital for over a month early 1917. The sent to 32 Stationary hospital. So diagnosis is “Shell Shock W”. So probably indicates reason for discharge a few months later.

WFA cards do not help. Confirm his address.
