Richard White is 08820 Hampshires. 2 WFA cards show his address is 17 Golden Lane. Widow Catherine.

Discharged for Dental Caries and Myalgia. Not showing as due etc. No exact DoD showing on cards.

edit

The following record excludes him

https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=S2/GBM/PIN82/182/0004&parentid=GBM/PIN82/009528

Thanks for all the Help Mark. I see what you are saying in the last link, he would not qualify and his T.B. was contracted after discharge.

Having said that I found him in the CWGC.

Kind regards.

Something a bit odd here. One is 08820 Hampshires. The other is 11865 RDF.

Assuming that is a previous number. The docs I gave link to  indicate he re-enlisted in 1919. He was originally discharged 4/5/16 according to those. But before that according to docs you originally quoted.

So looks like

brief service in 1914. Another period Sep 1915-May 16 then Aug 1919 to Jan 1920.

Thanks Mark, yes it looks complicated. But as he is already in the CWGC, I think I will move on if I may, to the next possible please.

Mark, on your FMP URL for White it says DoD 20.3.21 on first page

Perhaps one number refers to first regimental number, the Hampshire one to his second?

He is 1854 Welsh Regiment. WFA Card says GSW Hip attributable. 100% disability. Should qualify, wound on spine should be enough, but 28/10/21 is after 31/8/21

Address is in Cappoquin

His sister Elizabeth, Lizzie, is on the second WFA card. Main St is the address on the cards.

Thank you Mark, great research. I just noticed though he is too late for inclusion-October, 1921. Bummer!

Sorry for leading you astray Mark.

Fold 3 has Pension Ledgers and Index Cards for Pte., 7211955  Royal Munster Fusiliers, Thomas Lineham  discharged 19/4/1919.    FMP has record for him, search by just using service number only.

Thank you Bob, using your number gets me the ledgers in the National Army museum. Going through them now.

George, I see what you mean but ages are often wrong. I would not dismiss him just yet.

 Kind regards.

 Tom.

Thanks Bob, if you have access of course does it mention his date of death? or NOK please?

A quick look shows the man above was married and the death cert says he was a bachelor. Feck, so close and yet so far. Thanks anyway for all the help lads and lassies.

I don't think 7211955 can be your man.

The pension card has correspondence was going on into 1924. It is singularly short on detail. Pension paid to him for disability GSW left hand. No date of birth or next of kin or marital status. He was also 421507, Labour Corps (both scored out on card). It is not clear which unit came first.

British Army, Irish Regimental Enlistment Registers 1877-1924 in FMP is very odd: attested in Merthyr; born in St Anne's Cork; Occupation, labourer; address on discharge, 58 Castle Street, Dowlais, South Wales; next of kin address, 23 Rooh Street, Colines, Lancashire; date of enlistment (RMF), 30 Sep 1919; age on attestation: 27 192 days.

There are 2 relevant WFA cards. George is correct it is 10403. Died 26/2/21.

One is his father’s claim that has the St. Patrick’s Terrace address and DoD

The other is for his pension on discharge; 8/1/18.

The cause “Paralysis of Insane”. Does not say due etc.
