DaveBrigg Posted 9 January , 2006 Share Posted 9 January , 2006 Steve Many thanks for coming back to this. I appreciate how much time and effort this work must take. Can I ask what info you have about Margetts? I am in touch with his descendents, who have given a detailed biography up until he enlisted. I have found info about his commission, but the family only have one poor quality picture from a microfiche of a local paper. If you have a picture, you would make their day! Dave Hi Dave, the picture I've found is reasonable quality but at this point it's only a copy of a copy. I'll go into the original volume and, hopefully, we will have a much better portrait. I think it shows him with glasses. It mentions his BSc and some other qualification I've never heard of. Regards, Steve

Guest Keith_1 Posted 19 January , 2006 Share Posted 19 January , 2006 I have a fairly complete set of the Roll of Honour pages published in the Illustrated London News 1914-1918. If you would like me to search for a photo of an Officer killed during the Great War then please reply to this post. I need rank, name, regiment and date of death details. There's always a possibility he may have been recorded in this publication. N.B. it may take me a few days to reply so please be patient. Regards, Steve Bickmore I am researching two brothers Alfred Edward Bass (Queens Westminster rifles) who was killed in action at Glencorse Wood, East of Ypres on 16th August 1917. Age 29. Also I am interested in his brother: Victor Abram Bass (20th Royal Fusiliers) was killed in action at High Wood, Somme, on the 20th July 1916, Aged 27. Any information gratefully received!!
