museumtom Posted 19 April , 2020 Author Share Posted 19 April , 2020 On the ball Dave. The problem is we do not know if this was a local lad. I do know there was a lad from Antrim, with the Royal Irish Rifles, discharged/demobbed in 1919. I thought it might be him but why would he have been sent from a Belfast Hospital to a Carlow asylum? There were usually sent to an asylum or sanitorium near where they lived. Thanks for trying.

Mark1959 Posted 19 April , 2020 Share Posted 19 April , 2020 (edited) There is a family tree on ancestry that refers to a Thomas Fleming dying in Carlow on 16/1/21. Parents Thomas and Bridget nee McEvoy Gives a birth date of 22/2/1895 This would appear to be the relevant 1901 census entry http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Carlow/Tankard_s_Town/Tankard_s_Town/1044231/ There is the baptism record but no documentary evidence to support death date.
