George Rayner Posted 30 April , 2020 Share Posted 30 April , 2020 Well done Mark. He took some snuffling out! I couldn't get to him at all-although I tried Ellen! From Ancestry as a % of total sheets! George
ss002d6252 Posted 30 April , 2020 Share Posted 30 April , 2020 Can I just post a gentle reminder to include the links to the source images, please. The image is interesting in that I have just been looking at the pensions for something I'm writing up. That stamp ties in adjustments under the the RW 1917 due to it's inclusion of 'aggravation' as a pension entitlement alongside 'attributed to'. Article 7(2) paid out 'gratuities to soldiers for disablement not attributable to or aggravated by military service. Craig

museumtom Posted 30 April , 2020 Author Share Posted 30 April , 2020 What finds, I feel like Howard Carter when he found Tutankamun. I was convinced with such a common name and so little to go on he would not be found. Than you very much yet again for your unswerving help, for which I am as always most thankful I will get my act together ( I was munti tasking) and send him to Terry first thing in the morning. In March of last year, I put forward William Hamilton, 9865, Royal Irish Fusiliers, from Cavan. he was rejected as the critical sheet could not be found. His FMP records are here https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=gbm%2fwo363-4%2f007273128%2f01684&parentid=gbm%2fwo363-4%2f7273128%2f128%2f1682 I just wonder in these more recent times would we have a better chance to find it? Can you help please? I am almost convinced that there are more records on F<P than there were last year, would I be correct? The reason I say that is I decided during lockdown to go over the death certs again and I am getting more information now than I did last yer. Funny eh? Thank you again for all your help. Kind regards. Tom.

ss002d6252 Posted 1 May , 2020 Share Posted 1 May , 2020 I think it might be this manhttps://www.fold3.com/image/645789973?xid=1022 No details of death or discharge given (there's another card also without anything useful) other than mention that he had been under Chelsea, so he had received a pension when he was discharged. museumtom Posted 1 May , 2020 Author Share Posted 1 May , 2020 Sorry George, I assumed it was Royal Irish Fusiliers, I should have said. It could have been Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, just the same. That is a great fing Craig, thank you very much indeed. I was fiddling for a while and getting no-where, but you nailed it. What is your secret? Thanks again lads, I appreciate it greatly. Kind regards. Tom. With Craigs info I found his records on FMP, now to see if the critical sheet is in there....
