He cannot find evidence in his records, so its a no-go.

Thanks for trying George! he will be saved with the Irishmen anyway.

Kind regards.

 Tom.

Terry is on to it, it is touch and go, keep them fingers crossed lads..

-He was discharged with amputated leg due to wounds but died of liver disease. His widow's pension was rejected including after an appeal as not service related death. The DC comment looks like an attempt to help the relatives get a pension.

Nope, sadly he did not make it.

He was discharged due to leg wounds and amputation. He died of cirrhosis of the liver. His widow lost a pension appeal. The cause of death is not related to WW1 service. It is possible that the relatives were trying to blame the war wound (possibly causing a high level of alcohol consumption?) but it does not stack up in the documents.

He was a bit of a soldier wasn't he? NW Frontier, South Africa and France...very commendable but couldnt find anything to attribute the liver problem to service. He also is here...

Good man George. If you can find a N.O.K. or address I can add him to the Irishmen anyway. He should be down as Balrothery of Balbriggan, all in north Dublin.

Keep up the great work!

Kind regards.

 Tom.

That looks like the right crew! Gravestone gives all information.date of 26/12/1919 agrees with published death although register is two days earlier.

Well done

Thanks George. The posting is 14 years old so I hope the OP is still around. Can you find any address for him please?

Terry says he is 10213. His and his brothers (William, died in 1914 with the RDF) pension cards do not show agg or caused by. Sadly.

Onward and upward lads and lassies, I wonder who will be next to put us under pressure?

 Kindest regards and thanks again.

Tom.
