Ah, well you may be in luck then. I'll get in touch with a contact who's got some of the Wykehamists who Died in the War 1914-1918 volumes (not sure which ones he has exactly). Could take a week or two, but hopefully I can strike lucky.

Kev,

have a found a very good portrait of McAndrew in the ILN. Also have an obituary for him from another publication. I guessed by the KIA date that he was Neuve Chapelle casualty...

Nothing on Howley apart from a small entry saying he was killed by a shell.

That sounds great. Would it be possible to scan and e-mail me these items?

Leigh,

I can only find 2 on the list, 1 in the ILN and the other in a different roll of honour source.

Will get the images posted soon.

Steve

Leigh,

here's the Roll of Honour entry for Second Lieutenant W.M. Porritt, South Lancashire Regiment. Footnote says he was killed during the advance on Loos.

Regards, Steve

Leigh,

taken from the Bond Of Sacrifice Volume I:

Lieutenant Arthur Hennis Perrott, Adjutant 1st Battn. Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire Regiment)was the son of Major General Sir T. Perrott, K.C.B., and was born on the 13th June, 1885. He was educated at Windlesham House and Wellington, where he was in the Hill from 1899 to 1903, in which latter year he got his cap. After a year at the R.M.C. Sandhurst, he was gazetted to the Royal Berkshire Regiment in August, 1905, becoming Lieutenant in July, 1909.

From April, 1909, to June, 1910, he was A.D.C. to the General Officer Commanding the Straits Settlements, and was appointed Adjutant of his battalion in February, 1913. Lieutenant Perrott accompanied his battalion to France in August, and was killed in action on the 10th September, 1914, near Gengoulph, when the battalion was acting as vanguard to the IInd Division after crossing the Marne. He was buried in the churchyard at Hautesvesnes, prov. Aisne. He was a member of the Junior United Service Club, and was a good sportsman.

Leigh, I also found a reference (photo) to Lt Perrot in Berkshire and The War. This is a CD series I have used in the past. I'll ping you the details if you're interested?
