The Prussian Posted 19 March , 2019 Share Posted 19 March , 2019 (edited) Hello Clarke! That´s right. VI.28 was 5.Landsturm-Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon Cosel (so the 5th bataillon from Cosel, and 28th bataillon from VI.Corps) Formed january 1915 was under command of Stellv. Gen.Kdo VI.AK in Cosel. The badges with the latin numbers were introduced in 1915. I don´ tknow an exact date Edited 19 March , 2019 by The Prussian

The sender also has his unit details on reverse.

The Prussian Posted 19 March , 2019 Share Posted 19 March , 2019 Hello Clarke! You made a little mistake. You wrote VI.28, but the sender wrote XI.28. That´s another unit. Now we have the 11th army corps! 1.Landsturm-Infanterie-Ausbildungs-Bataillon (XI.28). 1.Landsturm-Infantry-Training-Bataillon XI.28 This one was formed July 13, 1915. It was placed at the Truppenübungsplatz (Training Ground) Ohrdruf until it was dissolved end of march 1916. I´d say, it´s a perfect card! It all adds up! The Prussian Posted 20 March , 2019 Share Posted 20 March , 2019 (edited) Hi Clarke! Unfortunately not... This man has typically shoulder boards (which number I can´t recognize...) and a Litewka for enlisted men and NCOs. It´s an M1903 with two pockets and a coloured collar patch for the branch. That means the collar patches had the same colour as the collars of the pre-war uniform. (Infantry = red, technical troops = black, Jäger = green, Train n= blue, cavalry = different colours). Landsturm always had a number upon the collar patches. Here I see red colour. Do you have more infos on the reverse or a close-up from the shoulder board, the buckle and the cockade, please? clarke Posted 20 March , 2019 Share Posted 20 March , 2019 Hi Not a problem at all, I'm guessing the number is 25 or 75, but am only guessing for the humour, I think my calls on such matters need to now come with a warning sign .
The Prussian Posted 20 March , 2019 Share Posted 20 March , 2019 (edited) Well, mate. If it´s a number without a sign, it´s infantry (red collar). Engeneers would have had a black collar. Inf.Rgt. 25 or 75 is possible. Is there anything written on the reverse? Maybe an atelier´s adress? Edited 20 March , 2019 by The Prussian

I'd say IR (or RIR or LIR) 75 because of the state cockade, which could very well be Bremen, but isn't Prussia.
The Prussian Posted 20 March , 2019 Share Posted 20 March , 2019 That's possible. Good eyes, mate. I also don't see a black in the cockade
clarke Posted 20 March , 2019 Share Posted 20 March , 2019 Hi mate, Nothing at all on back, one of only a couple that I have like such. The stamp attached is in the front-bottom right corner. I've also attempted to enlarge the epaulette, don't know if it helps.
trajan Posted 20 March , 2019 Share Posted 20 March , 2019 Is that "Hamburg"? Which would fit for a Bremen unit?

The Prussian Posted 20 March , 2019 Share Posted 20 March , 2019 There was a Leutnant Boskamp in Eisenbahn-Regiment Nr.3. A german officer didn´t have a first name. He had a rank!
