Service number is (40)1732

Thomas KENNY

There is an initial disability pension index card under 40 also citing the 22.6.17 date of discharge - initially awarded 27/6 pw from 23.6.17 to 25.12.17 [100% degree of disability rate for a pension Class V soldier/Pte - not unusual for a pulmonary TB sufferer, they wanted to stop him having to go out to work and thus potentially spreading it in the wider population]

Spotted this man, I don't think he's come up previously:

Capture1.JPG.6b560845decf90808c357efd48fc69f5.JPG

Thomas Doyle, died 30/01/1920 age 28, death registered Dublin North. Cause of death is "effects of shell shock in late war 3 yrs, neuritis with partial paralysis".

He was 2848 Leinster Regiment, medal roll says discharged medically unfit on 16/06/1915. Pension cards confirm the address and name his widow as Rosanna, but otherwise aren't too helpful.

Will almost certainly need more evidence to make a case.

Sorry Matlock and PaulC I answered in a hurry during the ads on the telly.

I only give you the hard ones lads and lassies, but you nearly always come up trumps.

I'm flattered, but I think Paul deserves the credit.

Seems you/IFCP were on the case earlier.

No worries Tom!

Did Terry put this one forward then? I assume the case was rejected at some point.

Hello PaulC.

I sent him to Terry on 20/06/2020, and he was rejected. I better update Doyles readout. At that time I was having trouble with my emails and Terry's replies were getting bounced back to him.

Good morning all.

I am trying to find out the circumstances of this ex-soldiers death. He was drowned at sea some weeks after discharge. It seems there were 11 ships sunk on that day but I cannot tie him to any of them. Can you help please?

He was also listed as 3908 Leinster Regiment (Monaghan)

He actually has surviving service records under 3908 Monahan in Fold 3  so could be in WFA as well?

https://www.fold3.com/search?docQuery=(fieldedKeywords:!((texts:!(Monahan),type:full-name)),keywords:'3908')

Cpl 876 Robert James Mason, Army Service Corps died of disease on 3 Nov 1919 - father Robert F Mason of Church Road, Killinery?, Ballybrack

Arrived in France on 12 Dec 1914

To find these on Ancestry I used last name (exact) and then put Service number in Keyword field and ticked exact match
