robbie Posted 11 May , 2005 Share Posted 11 May , 2005 I have a fairly complete set of the Roll of Honour pages published in the Illustrated London News 1914-1918. If you would like me to search for a photo of an Officer killed during the Great War then please reply to this post. I need rank, name, regiment and date of death details. There's always a possibility he may have been recorded in this publication. Steve Bickmore <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stephen, Not meaning to sabotage your thread, but do you or anyone esle know of a similar publication for Australian officers/rank and file? I have searched this site and Google but found nothing as yet. Any ideas gratefully received, thanks. Robbie

Australian officers do appear in the ILN, but infrequently. They also turn up in The Sphere and The Graphic. You get a lot of Australian entries in de Ruvigny's Roll of Honour volumes. But you probably know that

Stephenb Posted 11 May , 2005 Author Share Posted 11 May , 2005 Very helpful thanks mate. No I didn't know of these sources. Robbie <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What would be very useful would be a database index of the entries in de Ruvignys. I know Harpers medals has a meta database of Roll Honour entries i.e. taken from various sources (presumably they still sell it and keep extending it). I'm building up my Sphere and Graphic collection at the moment so I will offer lookups from these sometime in the future. You could also look here, but you have to pay for photos:- http://www.ww1photos.com/AIF.html
