Admin Michelle Young Posted 1 January , 2022 Admin Share Posted 1 January , 2022 Looks like the old Ypres Ramparts.
stripeyman Posted 1 January , 2022 Share Posted 1 January , 2022 I put the above photo on as there seems to be nothing on here for a while. We all know where this is but for a newcomer it shows the rebuilding to the rear of the ramparts at Ypres. I have no date on the rear of the photo but I would think late 1990's
chaz Posted 1 January , 2022 Share Posted 1 January , 2022 not much to go on here apart from "a dead end"

stripeyman Posted 16 January , 2022 Share Posted 16 January , 2022 Any experts out there ? A photograph taken late 1990's. Where is it ?
stripeyman Posted 19 January , 2022 Share Posted 19 January , 2022 A clue; The overgrown concrete, not a pillbox or bunker, has unfortunately now been removed.
Fattyowls Posted 19 January , 2022 Author Share Posted 19 January , 2022 Interesting; just on the basis of the flatness of the landscape I default to the Lys valley as a guess, but I must admit I'm struggling to think of other concrete structures. I'll go and make an industrial strength cup of coffee and see if it helps. Pete.

stripeyman Posted 21 January , 2022 Share Posted 21 January , 2022 They are railway pylons which is a clue to where this.
stripeyman Posted 23 January , 2022 Share Posted 23 January , 2022 (edited) What large items need to be transported by railway ? It is very much away from the front line. As Pete uses the word structure, I would not call it a 'structure'. Edited 23 January , 2022 by stripeyman
