God damn it... The "Kid Colonel" is an easy fish to fry eh?

What about this bloke?

A quote from his diary referring to a fellow soldier

"It's not everyday someone wins the VC"

Yep.. but it his name isn’t Barton, the film calls him that. Good luck

”those men should’ve gone Barton, marker flags have been seen!”

”not by me sir, I’ve asked for confirmation, from General Gardner!”

”your orders are to attack and you will do so immediately. The British at Suvla must be able to land!”

Good show… you got him.

a hint for the young man. Mentioned in Despatches about a week after he was killed

“It’s not everyday someone wins a VC”..the VC winner was with a Sergeant, whose brother was also a VC winner. The Sergeant was killed in the action that won the VC. The VC winner can crack the code

Finally after trawling through several “Rollo” (@tankengine888 what is the significance of this nickname, there’s bloody hundreds😁), the MID was awarded to Captain Harold Edwin Salisbury Armitage, for his actions on 2nd March 1917 , before he was killed in action, Noreuil, France, 2 April 1917 where he is buried.
