Geoff,

At present I have a total of two hundred sets of brothers who both perished on Gallipoli, but apart from these, there are at least a further two thousand and thirty-two instances of men who died as a result of service at Gallipoli.

The Williams’ I have are -

Williams Tpr. E H 5ALH 28.6.15 – Shell Green Cem 2K19 and Pte. H S H 35AIF 6.4.18 – Namps-au-Val BC 1G28.

Williams Sgt. E S L 8RWF 8.8.15 – Helles Mem 77-80 and Pte. J L 8Norf 16.10.15 – Norfolk Cem 1C11.

Williams 2Lt. J A 10AIF 7.8.15 – Lone Pine Mem 34 and Pte. W C 17FA AAMC 20.9.17 – Menin Gate 31.

Additional information: Son of William and Elizabeth Angus. Born at Rochford, Victoria.

Thank you. I can confirm that G K Smith received his wounds at Gallipoli and that W Angus is B Smith's step-brother (however I already had them listed); apart from that all others are new to me,

Pte John Lampard, 1974, 14th Bn (ex 7th Bn), AIF

Enlisted 2/1/1915 – embarked 17/4/1915 with the 5th Reinf of the 7th Bn on the Hororata – joined 7th Bn at the Dardanelles 17/6/1915 – transferred to 14th Bn 28/6/1915

Wounded in Action (GSW head) 7/8/1915 Gallipoli – DOW 12/8/1915 on board Hospital Ship Itonus – Buried at sea - commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial

Born 1891 Edenhope, Vic

Pte Glen Thomas Lampard, 734, 14th Bn, AIF

Enlisted 1/10/1914 – embarked 22/12/1914 on A38 Ulysses with 14th Bn – GSW (head) Gallipoli June 1915 – landed France 26/7/1916, joined Bn 7/8/16

KIA 10/8/1916 – buried in a shell explosion at Pozieres – Commemorated on the Villers-Brettoneux Memorial

Born 1888 Apsley, Vic

John & Glen are listed on the Balmoral War Memorial (for those who gave their lives)

All 4 boys are listed on the St Mary’s Anglican Church Roll of Honour, Balmoral.

Their 2 brothers who returned home:

Pte Gordon Lampard, 1485, 14th Bn, 21/10/14 – 11/12/18 (1890-1981) – [married Florence Ada COPSON 30/6/1917 in Pewsey, Wiltshire (1893-1979)]

Pte James Cyril Lampard, 1975, 4th Div HQ (ex 14th & 7th Bns), 11/1/15 – 23/3/19 (1893-1979) – [married Victoria May SCHOLFIELD in 1920 Victoria (1887-1945)]

These 2 brothers from Newry are both mentioned in the book Newry War Dead. If you are interested I can look up the details contained in it. I am looking for a photo of their memorial incl. inscriptions. If you are ever in the area.

I'm sure there are more among the UK dead, especially home deaths perhaps.

There is also the NZ archive to trawl, when it comes on line, might be a few more to find there.
