Nothing to say about this one really other than that it is a nice shot of a chappie in the Füsilier-Regiment Kaiser Franz Josef von Österreich, König von Ungarn (4. Württembergisches) Nr. 122 , his Waffenrock M.1910 with the regulation Brandenburg cuffs (some photographs of these men show them with Swedish cuffs), and his trouser cuffs rolled over his boots, a practice usually distinctive of Saxons, but a common affectation among Württembergers also. The photograph, as one can see, was taken in Böckingen-Heilbronn, location of a well-known Roman fort on the Neckar limes....! Julian Hello Julian! During the war, the uniforms did change according to their cuffs. Especially Württemberg had swedish and brandenburg cuffs. Here is an example of Inf.Rgt.125 wich all variations of their uniformes in the war. Edited 1 January , 2017 by The Prussian

The 'Auf' was one of the words I thought I had got but although 'Wiedersehen' was the obvious follow up, I could not work it out at all! And so, yes, four little rabbits - and such a lovely message about them! With our Paul being the saeted chap as shown by the cross over his head. Many thanks! Many thanks Andy - and good to see more of those turned down trouser cuffs on Württembergers. I had always previously associated these with the Saxons, but Johan Sommer's book put me to right on that. Thanks, Julian

The Prussian Posted 13 January , 2017 Share Posted 13 January , 2017 Hello! Not a lot... Probably an Unteroffizier of the line infantry of the I., II., IX. or X. army corps. Do you have a close-up of the buckle, please?

The Prussian Posted 13 January , 2017 Share Posted 13 January , 2017 It seems to be a crown. So it´s not a Mecklenburg regiment. The shoulder straps might be white. Do you agree?

Do you agree? The piping around the shoulder straps appears to be a similar tone to the border of the medal ribbon.
The Prussian Posted 13 January , 2017 Share Posted 13 January , 2017 It´s hard to see. If it´s one of the mentioned armycorps, the shoulder strapos were white. No piping. The shoulder straps normally had the same colour as the pipings of the cuffs. In this case probably white, because yellow appears much, much darker
