museumtom Posted 12 May , 2020 Author Share Posted 12 May , 2020 Hello IPT do you mean Thomas Ashe? If so they are different armies. Hello George, I had a quick look for an inquest, but no deal, it was worth a shot though. Nighty night lads, sleep tight. Kind regards. Tom. Mark1959 Posted 12 May , 2020 Share Posted 12 May , 2020 (edited) 394726 was born 1885 and has an address in Lancashire on his pension card. So not likely to be the right man. Wondering if he is 2258 Coldstream Guards and Boer War man. Looks like this man https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBM%2FWO96%2F1205%2F217%2F001&parentid=GBM%2FWO96%2F1205%2F1600838 and these Records would be relevant No proof. museumtom Posted 13 May , 2020 Author Share Posted 13 May , 2020 Good morning Mark, Yes it does look like he did not have WW1 service. I would not have known this except for your links and searches. Thank you for all your help Mark, it is as always very much appreciated. Kind regards. Tom.
George Rayner Posted 13 May , 2020 Share Posted 13 May , 2020 Morning Tom I think IPT is referring to the Richard Ashe who appears charged with assault on three individuals. He has no teeth, various scars and large varicose veins-which could link him to Mark's 1901 discharge cause!! All a little tenuous but people have been convicted on less evidence! I think Mark has the man-he does seem most likely. George
