There is a Wm J  Rusk in the naval medal rolls. Trio. 278691. No other records found yet.
Edit

That is him. WFA card has him at Annalore and correct DoD. Gives name with an E at end. Brother James was RIF KIA 1/7/16.

3 cards, one says died after discharge. Nothing useful for this purpose.
Not sure epilepsy can be considered as caused by service unless due to an injury.

Excellent finds lads, I don't know how ye do it. I cannot see him qualifying without further info, either way he will be remembered with the Irishmen.

I am in your dept lads, thank you very much indeed.

 Kind regards.

I take it back lads, I CAN see him qualifying, as IPT says Epilipsy is what he was discharged with. The archives are free and try as I might I cannot get it to send  I will send him on today, finger crossed!

Thanks again lads, I really was not hopeful that this lad could be found.

 Kind regards.

Tom.

This soldier died from scrirrosis of the liver, and I am not sure if he will qualify as there is nothing in his WW1 records on FMP to say what he was discharged with. Can you help please?

The last one, McCarthy, is 6210, East Yorks Regt.

https://www.fold3.com/image/645810321

Gives same address and DoD of 7/5/21. Claim from mother Mary

Also for him.

Mother was not entitled to a pension.

Nothing re attributed searching..

Funny one this. It says James Keane was from Paisley and died in the asylum in Clonmel, a bachelor aged 50 in 1920. So I am thinking it might be this lad. Or perhaps not. Can you help me please? I have no idea about John Madden.

Whether served overseas Yes
Badge date of issue 07-Jun-1917

This chap Kane is a possibility for Keane.

https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBM%2FWO363-4%2F007276519%2F00451&parentid=GBM%2FWO363-4%2F7276519%2F48%2F451

looks a possibility. WFA card shows he died 11/7/20. Read through and originally from Co. Tipperary.
Discharge not attributable.
He gives his father as Nok on his 1898 enlistment and his address is in Glasgow

Looks as if he was too fond of the bottle.

Despite this

Case proven I think.

Oooh you are good Mark, great find thank you very much indeed. I would never have thought of Kane instead of Keane.

Brilliant work.

Morning Tom

Working through yesterday's folk...

Peter Manning has three possible candidates but nothing relevant

RIR #3095 Discharged 1909

RInnisF #3991 Discharged 1892

R Irish #6832 may be possible as discharge was war and pension cancelled 8.4.21 after death of soldier. But no attributable illness
