With regard to next weekend, I expect that people will gather at the Old Contempibles from 7.00 or so onwards - I believe that the back room has been reserved for us. Last year quite a few people ate there - they do a rather nice line in sausages - I'm not aware of anyone who headed off for a meal after the pub, but I really don't know for certain about that.

On Saturday, we'll be there from 9, with tea and coffee served at 10, and then Andy Robertshaw kicking us off at 10.30

Thanks - much clearer now.

There you have it. A new nickname for a long-serving member of the Forum.

'Triple-Duffs' Smithson.

Can someone ensure that this legendary contributor gets his three puds, with extra lashings of chantilly? All on a single, very large plate.

Meanwhile: a little picture to help whet 'Three-Duffs' appetite is attached.

Simon.

Looks like ammunition for a food fight. I hope the mods will be standing by with splat guns to quell any such impulses.

Not strictly true - 7.00 is just a suggestion - I have no idea actually when people will start arriving...

Probably "close enough for government work" as the saying goes.

It most certainly is!

And it is a most excellent lunch!

Roger

The OC pub is very busy with the suits from nearby law and accounting firms, up to about 7.30pm.

But it does add to the atmosphere! I for one will be there at about 7pm

We have the alcove at the far end pre-booked for our use. From c6-6.30 p.m. I will be there punctually as I am spending the afternoon in the Central Library just up the road.

Once was one of those suits (now I'm just a scruff).. Shall do some shopping, grab a light bite and aim to get there about 7

Do they serve white chocolate on draft? They stopped doing Leffe so the next best thing.

I was starting to regret not being able to stay the Friday night but 6.30........... I don't think I'd see much of Saturday at that rate. Have one for me, Roger  and see you at the conference.
