Remembered Today:

Has Anyone Got A Photograph Of..........

It has those distinctive pylons (two of them at far left) which we've met before in these challenges. There are certainly some on the Somme but they've appeared elsewhere (maybe around Le Cateau, IIRC). Don't have time for searching at the moment but will get back to it if I get chance :)

Cheers,

Richard

A few have asked about the CCS vestiges, so here is a map. Site known as Dermot House, on Les 3 Tilleulls, just west of Outtersteene. Circled on the map.

I've just checked on street view, the farmer has recently put some storage area adjacent to the road, so may be difficult to see from the road.

Certainly a good remnant of a WW1 CCS, don't think it's been seen by many. Please don't upset the farmer.

Some rows for Maryline, but where?

Still struggling with this one, several ideas but flummoxed by that “additional” memorial, any clues in the offings 😁

Geographically, no too far from my last photo.

Many who contribute to this thread have great knowledge of the cemeteries, and are able to identify those which, to me, all look similar.

This ADS bunker, with later added rear blast wall, is 10 metres outside the cemetery wall, a large one most will have visited many times, probably having tried to save those in the cemetery who did not survive.

Anyone know it?

Good one Peter, that will be challenging. Haven't a clue myself so no change there then.

Pete.

Well done Knotty.

Many in the cemetery unfortunately did not benefit from the aid in the bunker.

After the British withdrawal in early 1918 the front line was only half a mile away, according to CWGC burials ceased, and this structure then changed usage and is marked as "SOS Relay Post" on 49th Division Defence Scheme map.

Hi Peter

Sometimes you can spot them, others you can spend ages looking but it doesn’t want to register, I’m still struggling with Michelle‘s last one, even with a clue it’s evading me😁

The village where this cemetery is located was one time HQ of 1 Corps.

The largest cemetery with rows that “length” I can come up with is Chocques Military Cemetery?

Do not worry @chaz I will not be persuing this line, as there must be some Forum rule that addresses the use of good and bad taste😁

I should think not too.

Michelle's framing of the entrance and the visible gravestones make me wonder if it is a recognisable cemetery if the photo was wider. I feel I should know where it is but as usual I don't.

Pete.

P.S. And if anyone uses the S word again I will lock the thread.
