paulgranger Posted 7 December , 2015 Share Posted 7 December , 2015 'Trekking On' by Denys Reitz was one of those memoirs referenced a lot in the books I read in the '60s and '70s, not so much these days. Reitz had fought against the British during the Second Boer War, but fought for the British in the GW, becoming a battalion commander. His memoir of the South African War, 'Commando', was recently issued as a Kindle book, and now 'A Taste of the Trenches', an abridged version of 'Trekking On' is also out as a Kindle book, both of them currently 99p.
