Hi,

482583 appears to be a 1917 TF renumber associated with the number block issued to West Riding Division Signal Company RE. On his right arm, is that a part of a white over blue signallers brassard?

Regards

Chris

Thanks Chris, a brassard looks likely.   dispatch rider was written on the back of the card.

Interesting sergeant PTI ........ wears crossed swords ABOVE the gun badge. This may well be "correct" but I know of no regulation covering the matter. I think gun on top would look neater but .................

Is it the name of the man or the person it was sent to?

Is not the gun badge part of the rank insignia and therefore the PTI qualification badge as such correctly worn above the rank insignia? Willing to be corrected of course.

It is correct until you add a crown, at which point the swords go below it even though the crown is part of a rank badge too.

I assumed the man as that's all that was written, no address or dedication.

Doesn't appear to have any military records on FMP. A MiC might be on TNA.

Only possible is this man but you would have to assume that he was probably aged around 21yrs of age at the time.
