Thanks for trying Tim, do you know of any other avenues I could explore? I am told that there is a good chance that his service records will survive at the NA..were these housed in a different place to other ranks during WW2?

I have a plaque to MC,winner to a MAJOR ARCHIBALD,STEWART,WEST,RFA,DATE OF DEATH 23/3/18, any info would be great thanks for your time and effort.

only just read your kind offer of look ups for officers for 1916. Any chance you could try the folowing casualty?

2 Lt. Archibald MACNEILL

1st/6th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders

KIA 26th March 1916

Aged 19

Buried at Maroeuil British Cemetery

Any info would be good and a photo would be even better!!

I have a copy of two Cd Roms One being Officers Died 1914 and the other being Officers Died 1916. They, by no means cover all the Officers probably a couple of hundred on each. If anyone would like a lookup just let me know.

Could you check the following officers for me, particularly with respect to a photograph:

2Lt Ernest Hicks, 2/18th Londons (London Irish Rifles) d. 10.16

Richard Killick - 1/6th Manchesters d Gallipoli

Edwin Struebig - 10th Londons

John Russell Carrier - 1/5th Londons - d. 10.16

Edward Falby - 1/4th Loyal North Lancs - d. 9.16

also any images of LRB (5th London) Officers who were killed in 1916 ?

Can I help you with look ups on Murphy's Register of photo sources ? Let me know
