laughton Posted 13 October , 2011 Share Posted 13 October , 2011 A number of the Canadian war diaries have been transcribed from the on-line records. I see my list has not been updated for some time on the MATRIX so I had better tend to that! http://cefresearch.c...aries/index.htm I have only a few pages of the war diary for my grandfather in the 26th Northumberland Fusiliers, so I would be pleased if someone can tell me how I might get my hands on such a file, transcribed would be great but even raw would be better than nothing. I am particularly interested in late 1916 to mid 1917, after which he was sent home, somewhat in pieces. Richard of Canada

4thGordons Posted 16 October , 2011 Share Posted 16 October , 2011 1/4th Bn Gordons. I have only got 1915 formatted on the 1/4th Gordons site so far (link above) but I have the whole thing transcribed now so happy to do look ups/provide sections. This diary mentions almost no O/Rs by name unfortunately. I also have pretty big chunks of the 51st Highland Div. Diary from Feb 1916 on although this was selectively photographed so no guarantees! keithmroberts Posted 17 October , 2011 Share Posted 17 October , 2011 I have the complete diary for the 16th West Yorks (1st Bradford Pals) as jpegs but email will only work for a few pages. There are 291 images, and almost 600 megabytes. One day I will divide the folder into months. I am happy to copy to CD and post, but a donation to the GWF funds would always be an appropriate recognition. Keith

Hywyn Posted 6 November , 2011 Share Posted 6 November , 2011 Bernard I don't know if you are aware that the amount of posts on the page of a thread can be varied to suit the reader. Mine is set at a 100 posts per page and so I only have 3 pages. You may therefore want to consider changing page number references in the opening post to post number refrences? Certain links may not always work so you may have to go to the main website eg Canadian Archive.
