morrisc8 Posted 24 January Author Share Posted 24 January Very rare lot from an amateur which includes 20 stereo glass plates in their original box on the ruins of the war of 14-18 concerning above all the cities of Reims, Soissons, Saint-Quentin and their cathedrals but also the forts from Vaux, Douaumont, Tergnier, Berry-au-Bac, Noyon. Plates which are all in their original small transparent pockets, captioned and dated, either 1919 or 1923. Format 13 cm by 6 cm. Reims in this photo. morrisc8 Posted 30 January Author Share Posted 30 January (edited) This is how i take a photo of my glass stereo photos. 1. You need a good background light to put the glass stereo photos on. I bought a cheap LED light box/screen. Try not to touch the top or bottom of the glass photo just the sides as you don`t want your fingerprint on them. 2. I use the camera on my phone . 3. I cut a hole in a small box so i can put the phone on top. You can keep the phone steady and zoom in on the glass photo. 4. I then email it to my pc, mac or laptop and edit it, cut/crop to size, straighten it. You can also do this on the phone but i like a big screen. Just make sure you have the glass photo the right way round. first photo and my camera on the box photo is the wrong way round, you can tell as the writing is the wrong way round on the glass photo. The last two photos is how you should do it. I also photo glass negatives and negatives the same way and convert them on my pc. Hope it helps if you want to copy your ones..
