Anthony,

Thank you for the kind offer. I'm sure you will get many interested parties.

I have a list of about 50 men, all surnamed "Camp" - a little project I have going at the moment. While I wouldn't want to impose upon your generosity or time, please let me know if you would be amenable to helping me out with some or all of the men I'm researching.

Thanks,

Matthew

Many thanks Anthony and John for you help - most appreciated.

Sorry to pester but could you also confirm that names I gave you were all killed in action (rather than DOW). I assume they are since you did not specify DOW.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best wishes,

Jonathan

Dare I ask - you have a whole bucket full of requests - still if I don't ask I won't get.

My great uncle - listed below - Frank Johnson.

I know the date of his enlistment, death and where he is buried. Anything else would be great.

best regards

Anthony

Hello Anthony

One name on the Chailey War Memorial has been eluding me and I can find no obvious reference to him on CWGC.

The name as listed on the memorial is F A J Wood. The Chailey Parish magazine, which was meticulously kept throughout the war, lists all the Chailey men who were serving, month by month. One of the names it lists is Frederick Wood, as follows:

March 1915

Frederick Wood listed as serving King and Country

October 1915

Wood, Pte F, AVC, Dardanelles

December 1916

Wood, Pte F, AVC

December 1917

Wood, Corpl F, AVC

July 1919

Wood, Corpl F, AVC

So I am looking for a Corporal Frederick Wood with an Army Vet Corps (and a Chailey) connection who died between 1919 and 1921.

There is a Private FJW Wood (Labour Corps) on CWGC but as I say, no obvious connection to Chailey / AVC. Would appreciate any further light that SDGW could shed.

Many thanks for your time.

Paul

Many thanks for taking the time to look these men up for me. Interestingly that's now three Royal Fusiliers (25th Bn.) who appear on CWGC but not on SDGW.

Thanks again.
