Okay, I will take a stab at this but I was pretty hopeless in my attempts to answer the earlier ones! But, by default here goes:

I am standing in a CWGC cemetery in France but then again, upon reflection, I could be in a whole different continent altogether.

Not a whole heap of clues there! I would love to have you describe the cemetery and what it means for you.

Cheers

Well within the British sphere of involvement here, but there's an unusual grave in the front row of the photo. What cemetery is this?

Sorry to have brought the fun to a dead stop like this! I suppose you either know it or you don't so rather than let it drag on with lots of clues (and as I'm going out for the day) I'll give the answer. It's Erquinghem-Lys Churchyard Extension. Over to anyone else who would like to continue.

OK then, here's one:

"A soldier of the Cambridgeshire regiment shares this church graveyard with one other WW1 CWGC casualty but rather more of the Clan McDonald, it could be in the South Riding but which village ?"

As my previous post might have been missed in the website's Sunday siesta, here's another clue:

"Amongst the burials the graveyard is the resting place of the tallest ******** in England, at 25 feet"

Rudston All Saints.

Well done ! I visited the churchyard on Saturday. For anyone else who's interested:

There are 2 CWGC graves in the churchyard.

It is the burial place of the McDonalds of the Isles

It is the burial place of Winifred Holtby, author "South Riding"

England's tallest monolith, at 25 feet, stands in the churchyard.

I agree Sabine.

Strange I didn't recognize it straight away as my only WW1 family casualty is buried there.
