Sir Cliff Posted 24 May , 2010 Share Posted 24 May , 2010 We did our annual tour to the Somme last week. Again I did some then and now photo' s. To find the location of this photo I went to the local cafe for help. The pond in front of the houses has disappeared and the Mairie has now been built opposite the houses. To take it from the same place as the original photographer was not possible. Then the right building was a cafe and on the present photo the word cafe is also on the building. burlington Posted 25 May , 2010 Share Posted 25 May , 2010 The real problems with this sort of image set, and I do think that they are really great, is either the lack of colour on the early image OR the lack of B&W on the modern image. Software programs can produce images in B&W. I wonder what they would look like. Apart from that folks, really great stuff. Martin

Sir Cliff Posted 9 June , 2010 Share Posted 9 June , 2010 CT guard No, I do not mind. I appreciate the way you put these 2 photos into one. The way they transform from black and white into colour give it a special effect. Just a funny story when taking the last photo. I was standing in front of the house to make a now photo of the church. I had this photo with me but had no idea where it was taken. Out of the house came a madame with a bicycle and I approached her and showed the photo and asked in French if she knew the location in the village. Glancing on it she said Mais, c' est ma maison (It is my house). She had never seen this photo before so after I had my now photo taken I gave her the then photo. Best regards, Sir Cliff
