Marco Posted 30 March , 2010 Share Posted 30 March , 2010 One of my favourites - Fifteen Ravine British Cemetery, Villers-Plouich. I recall that the Cross of Sacrifice was destroyed by a lighning strike some years ago. Pic taken on a sunny day. Correct: http://www.xs4all.nl/~aur/layout/frames.ht...EENRAVINEBC.htm Regards, Marco
LesCroft Posted 30 March , 2010 Share Posted 30 March , 2010 Another fairly easy one. You'll notice I have stopped handing out cigars. You are too good at this. I'm rubbish at this but I'll have a go at Poperinge.
AlanCurragh Posted 30 March , 2010 Share Posted 30 March , 2010 Could the last one be Sucrerie?
Chris_Baker Posted 30 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 30 March , 2010 No and ... no again. I can understand the Sucrerie bit. Long, narrow. But there are a lot more trees round Sucrerie (near Colincamps).

stevem49 Posted 30 March , 2010 Share Posted 30 March , 2010 Right next to both cemeteries and strategically positioned off camera! Is the latest in the Kemmel area?
Chris_Baker Posted 30 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 30 March , 2010 Only vaguely.

stevem49 Posted 30 March , 2010 Share Posted 30 March , 2010 So the Neuve Chapelle Festubert area then (maybe)

Verrico2009 Posted 30 March , 2010 Share Posted 30 March , 2010 Visually (never having been) Browns Road looks to have similar trees and a building a bit like the glimpse in the background...
Chris_Baker Posted 30 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 30 March , 2010 Nope.
Nigel Marshall Posted 31 March , 2010 Share Posted 31 March , 2010 I can't name the cemetery, but I do notice the West Yorkshire Regiment men buried closest to the camera. Germans too a little further back. Cheers, Nigel
Chris_Baker Posted 31 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 31 March , 2010 Let me put your pain to an end. The pic is of Rue-David Military Cemetery near Fleurbaix. CWGC details. Let's try another one. For once, I had good weather.
stoj22 Posted 31 March , 2010 Share Posted 31 March , 2010 Hebuterne?
Chris_Baker Posted 31 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 31 March , 2010 Got it in one. Well done. It is part of Hebuterne Military Cemetery. Ok, so how about this?
Nigel Marshall Posted 31 March , 2010 Share Posted 31 March , 2010 Looks like Railway Dugouts Burial Ground (Transport Farm) to me. In fact with the second, smaller, circle down the incline, I'm convinced of it. That would be the Valley Cottage Cemetery and Transport Farm Annexe Memorials. Cheers, Nigel
stevem49 Posted 31 March , 2010 Share Posted 31 March , 2010 I would agree. Got hit on the head by a conker when taking photos there.
Chris_Baker Posted 31 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 31 March , 2010 Quite right, chaps. Now you're cooking on gas. It is indeed Transport Farm (Railway Dugouts) Cemetery near Zillebeke. If you squint you can just see the tips of spires in Ypres above the buildings. How about this one? It may be a bit harder.

TD60new Posted 2 April , 2010 Share Posted 2 April , 2010 Near Arras, Tilloye les Mofflaines Maybe ?
Nigel Marshall Posted 2 April , 2010 Share Posted 2 April , 2010 I was at Tilloy les Mofflaines in March. This isn't Tilloy. There are a few cemeteries in the area though. I'm stumped. Cheers, Nigel
River97 Posted 2 April , 2010 Share Posted 2 April , 2010 I'll have a stab and say Hooge Crater Cemetery on the Menin Road. Not 100% sure, it's been years since I've been there, the buildings look a bit close. Cheers Andy.
Chris_Baker Posted 2 April , 2010 Author Share Posted 2 April , 2010 Tilloy was a lot closer than Hooge.
