I've just had the email too Mike, but was cautious of it because it asks you to click on a link - I know 'naughty' emails ask you to do this and I was wary of viruses.

Was thinking of going straight into the site and seeing what's going on??

Anyone else????

What made me wary was, if they lost my 'signature' how come they still had my email address?

Just had an email to say that they have lost 2000 signatures, software crash. They want me to re sign. Anyone else hsd this, before I re sign?

Cheers Mike

Sorry - we're totally embarrassed about this. The petition disappeared during an update. We have the downloaded list, but nothing to show online except new signatories. We've emailed the first 1050 people who signed - the next 1050 get the email shortly.

This is what happens if you use someone elses software without reading the instructions properly. Apologies all round.

During a site update, the petition software reset to zero, just as we were

celebrating more than 2000 signatures.

We are very sorry to have to trouble you as the amount of signatures was one

of the strongest points of our campaign.

You are receiving this email because you signed the petition before, and it

is to ask you to sign it again.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

This is what I received.

I've signed again because I think it's important.

Regards

John

Have you checked to make sure it won't reset again at 2000?

I've just signed. Hope all the effort proves to be effective. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the many people worldwide who believe these sites to be "sacrosanct". Dave.

Hello Sabine,

What is the last day for signatures on the petition?

Best regards

CGM

Edited to say I think I can answer my own question as I've found the closing date for objections is the 23rd January so I imagine just before then....

Yes, I had this e-mail and re-signed. I thought it might be a scam at first but it opened on the original webpage.

FYI, a Forum Member gba1968 has started a thread under Forum category "Soldiers" providing a link to a Facebook Group for a petition.

Sabine

Perhaps you can borrow the blonde wig from Bardess ("Other" threads here) !
