John_Hartley Posted 2 November , 2015 Share Posted 2 November , 2015 Just to give what may be the final update to this story. The Wadham House memorial now has a permanent home at Altrincham Town Hall, where it's located in a public area. This comes about through the efforts of George Cogswell, who researches the war dead of the Borough of Trafford, which is next door to me in Stockport. George is the person I mentioned upthread who had bought the memorial and he's subsequently made the arrangements with the Council for its permanent care. D Ashe Posted 21 February Share Posted 21 February I can see that this topic is a good few years old now - but I am tracing my family history and came across this. I am related (on my father's side) to: Captain Edward Neville Ashe 1893 - 1918 - he was my Grandfather's cousin and died in action Herbert Ashe (school master) was my Great Great Uncle. He died in 1942. I have been trying to trace Capt. E N Ashe's medals - I saw they were auctioned some years back but I have lost trace after they were again auctioned. There is a memorial plaque in Altrincham Town Hall with his name on.
