Good work Ian. I have a Maldon lad who srved and died at the Curragh.:

ASKEW, GEORGE WILLIAM

Born in Maldon. Lived in Chelmsford/Maldon. Enlisted in Maldon. [A] [M] [T146]

Died 27/5/1916

Curragh Military Cemetery (1229)

What happened was that he shot himself a year after the loss of his brother KIA at Frezenberg. He clearly never got over the loss. Despite this suicide, the Army marked his passing and he has a CWGC headstone out in the Curragh. Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but it gives some extra context and, like other stuff on the GWF, all these threads link to remember what all these lads did for us (your man included).
