monkstown Posted 1 September , 2022 Share Posted 1 September , 2022 (edited) BarbaraG - very interesting re Nurse Peare - I know Peares in Wexford but I am also interested as the warpoet/writer Winifred Letts finished her stint as a VAD nurse in 2nd Western General Hospital Manchester on 30/6/1916 and Nurse Peare apparently started to work there 1/7/1916. Edited to add - her Birth Cert gives her date of birth as 10/4/1892. The 'Life Story' gives 1894, quoting the 1911 census as the source and the new CWGC headstone gives her age as 23 but I would presume her birth cert is correct, making her almost 25 when she died.
