This photo turned up in the 'Firing Line' archive:

Captain Perry, Lt FAS Hinton, Lt Carl Langer on duty King's

No date, simply captioned "Captain Perry, Lt FAS Hinton, Lt Carl Langer on duty King's" - Carl Langer was my Austrian grandfather and is seen sporting the Imperial Service badge indicating TA who were wiling to serve overseas.

What an odd photo - and more than a touch of Clouseau about your grandfather!

Bags of swank - I think he looks great.

Quite agree - presumably Captain Perry is the Orderly Officer of the day wearing his sword?

Sorry to disappoint, Perry is seated (look at the cuff rank), my grandad is the one scowling on the left, Hinton (later Lt. Col.) on the right - Hinton's medals recently came up for sale.... sad....

I just thought that the names were listed left to right...one on the left might be the Orderly Officer then.
