Pattern 14 Rifle

My P14 has got DP for some reason written all over it in capitals. DP is on the trigger guard, stock and integrated magazine holder for some reason. Anybody got any suggestions why? I think that may have been the initials of the previous owner, but why is it written on all of the key features?

This usually stands for Drill Purpose

"A drill purpose rifle is a rifle which has been altered so that it can no longer be fired. Instead it is used solely for drill purposes, training and teaching usually by cadets"
