Hi Michelle, do you mean that someone came up to you whilst you were in the cemetery and told you not to take photos if so why?. I take it that you could have taken general pics from outside the place as there would be nothing to stop you from doing this.

I assume the 2 meter+ high screen, which starts at the road, is still there.

(by the way: this is an animation, would be surprised if it already looks like this)

Bit confused here, is the cemetery open to the public? and if anyone has a photo of what it actually looks like now please post (with or without screens).

Official opening july 19th, at the 94th anniversary of the battle.

Don't think anybody will be allowed to visit the cemetery before that date.

Thanks Roel that sounds reasonable. I just wonder why Michelle was treated in the way she was, I presume that this took place inside the cemetery.

I wasn't able to get in, the gates were locked and a security guard said I was not allowed to take photos. Looks like work is progressing well though.

Michel,

It looks marvellous. Thanks for the pic.

I think I may well visit after the ceremonies and the excitement. I think the access will be problematical when the big-wigs are in town. Plebs will not be encouraged!

I'll agree, it does look fantastic, and with the first headstones in place as well.

Cheers Andy. :poppy:

Great pic, Michel. Do those headstones have names on them?

Looking forward to seeing you again on 9 May.

If you don't like brass & big crowds stay away july 19th. Still it should become quite an event. I talked to a lady from the Australian army, thousands are expected from all over the world. A big stand is going to be built on the open space in post #83. Among the visitors also may descendants of the (identified) soldiers.

Hello Mick

was not able to see the good side of the headstones... I do not know if the names are already engraved...

I am not yet sure to be there on 9 may, but it will be a great pleasure to see you

Cheers !!!
