adrian45 Posted 30 June , 2022 Share Posted 30 June , 2022 #150166 Private Samuel ‘Sam’ McNeice With the invaluable help of an Ulster researcher who has volunteered to help us, we are continuing our search for the final resting place of Sam McNeice who died at Ballymena in County Antrim on 26 June 1919. For certain, we now know Sam’s mother (née Margaret Ann Hamilton, died 10 April 1922) was buried at Kells & Connor New Presbyterian Cemetery, which is 5 miles south east of Ballymena. Our current theory is that Sam’s father (also Samuel, died 01 May 1902) and Sam are most likely buried in the same grave as Margaret Ann, but the relevant Burial Registers have yet to be located. Sam’s widow (née Margaret Thompson, died 27 November 1922) and eldest daughter (Isabella aka Isobel, died 22 May 1981) were both interred in Cushendall Road Cemetery at Ballymena, but Sam is not buried there with them. We will keep you informed of further progress. Adrian & Diana The Far From Home project
