Desmond7 Posted 3 May , 2008 Share Posted 3 May , 2008 Sorry folks - just bringing this to top again ... I have podcasts done which cover up to July 1 1916 .... is the offer to host on forum still a 'go' in light of the 'new management structure'? I would also appeal for forum members to examine some of the podcast suggestions given above and offer their opinions. Des
finrod Posted 3 May , 2008 Share Posted 3 May , 2008 If you have a microphone on your PC, you can create your own podcast. I have been using Audacity 1.3.4 beta to record my vinyl and tape collection in preparation for burning onto CD, it will also allow recordings direct from a mic which can then be exported as mp3. You may need an additional item (LAME) to save mp3s using version 1.2.6. It's freeware and is available here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Incidentally, you may not need to download a podcast to play it, you could open it there and then with any program that plays mp3 files. I prepared a rough and ready (under seven second, 99kb) mp3 as an example, but it wouldn't allow me to upload it. I really enjoyed the podcasts, my mother's people were from County Armagh.
