I am going through the thread I started Royal Engineers Sick and Wounded 1916, showing partial lists with no number or date, in order to try and date them. I started to post them on this thread. My first was on p 22. I did not have FMP when I started and RE service number checks on my first partial list has not only allowed me to date it but also has uncovered two more full lists.

HA 15814 October 1917. In the Service Record of James Lee DLI. Ancestry WO 363 Lee 441.

HA 15834 October 1917. In the Service Record of Albert John Moore DLI. Ancestry WO 363 Moo 31627. (HA 15834 is also in two parts in the WO 363 of James Lee pp 436 and 437).

I am aiming to date one partial list per day so these will be my last till tomorrow.

@dink999 Is there any chance you might be able to find which list someone wounded on September 15th 1916 would be on, 11281 Blackman of the 32nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers?

Find mypast has those as well and their copies are reasonably legible. What's more they have indexed them so the individual names should be picked up by a search.

Not exactly at the moment. I’m currently cataloging what images I have found on FMP, If he is on a list being admitted to a French Hospital initially, it will be in the range HA2943 (14th Sep) to HA2600 (17th Sep). He could then be on a UK admissions list from HB1898 (15th Sep) to HB2112 (27th Sep) but only if he was shipped back to the UK quickly.

I’ll have a look through those lists I have in that range to see if he is recorded.

Charlie

My system is that I search for them on FMP and then the trick is to find them on Ancestry. I quote the Ancestry Filmstrip number because FMP does not number their filmstrip. It also acts as a point of reference for members without FMP.

My contribution today is List H 1275 August 1915 Med. (In the Service Record of Ernest Newton, Cheshire Regt. Ancestry WO 363 New 67770).

I have been reading the 1914-15 Labour Corps Rolls to identify ex 3 East Lancs Brigade RFA. One name was 883 Gnr Simm, Ernest later LC 586825. His disembatkation date is shown as 25/04/1915 (2b) which can not be right. The Bolton Artillery sailed from Alex in May 1915 for Gallipoli but could not land and had to return. 18 Bty landed at Cape Helles on 25/07/1915 and the rest of the Brigade on 24/09/1915. The WDs of 3 East Lancs Brigade (WO 95/4314) start in May 1915 and record that on 16/06/1915 a draft of 15 men arrived from England. I am trying to identify them as best I can. There may have been a smaller draft before that.

The Bolton Evening News 24/09/1915 reported that 18 Bty was ashore in Gallipoli on 26/07/1915 and named those reporting sick, including E Simm.
