over the last few months I have been contacting different departments and searching for information that I have not managed to got. Fortunately I have found out quiet a bit more info and numerous Photos taken by a Young officer. I have downloaded the photos but as per I have not received permission to use them on my web site. I have been given permission to provide a link to them but going by past experiance some times these links are broken in the future so still hoping via a family member to get permission to include on the site. Data protection laws bite again.

How far have you got with the 1914 roll?? i see I managed to assemble c.920 names off the 1914 star medal cards but have yet to add ranks and sort out who has service records surviving. was that BSM R B Smith mentioned earlier? .. 86th Bty - i believe in 30th Bde in 1914 as a Sgt

how are you getting on with the roll ? if you read my latest post you will see I am still searching !!! I was hoping that you would provide me with the list of names to add to the web site. I am going to be carrying out a major update soon as I need to condense the pages before I provide a dvd to the Larkhill archivist for filing.

Chris,

you probably already have these, but just in case they are useful, there are at least two men who after service in 32 Bde RFA on 23 Aug 1914 would go on to serve in the unit I am researching, 58 Bde RFA (www.58FAB.com) later in the war:

Dvr Philip Clarkson (50858),

Lt Thomas Jacomb Hutton (who would go on to be a Lt Gen in WW2 and whose papers are in the Liddell Hart Collection in King's College London).

    David.
