CROONAERT Posted 10 January , 2008 Share Posted 10 January , 2008 Hopefully, this will bring back a few happy memories for some.... Amazing what crap turns up when you're looking for something else! Bet there's not too many of these fliers around any more!... Dave
cockney tone Posted 10 January , 2008 Share Posted 10 January , 2008 Dave, crap to some ! treasure to others ! Great find, thanks for sharing it. Been to Bayernwald a couple of times and really like the place and think is a great 'educational tool' that gives you more of an understanding what went on in the area. regards, Scottie. Pierre Grande Guerre Posted 5 April , 2008 Share Posted 5 April , 2008 Well I enjoyed my visits to the Bayernwald Trenches. Of course I knew before these trenches were carefully restaurated. The bunkers and the mine shafts are original. But they gave me anyway a good impression as is possible. If you prefer "rough", untouched trenches, you should visit for instance Apremont Forest in the St. Mihiel Salient. I have made a series of pictures of the Bayernwald Trenches in a well kept state in 2005. During my lonely visit 5 guys were busy mowing the grass. Click HERE, if you are interested in these photo's. For photo's of "rough" trenches in Apremont Forest click HERE. Bayernwald 2005:
