bushfighter1 Posted 16 February , 2007 Share Posted 16 February , 2007 Cam I managed to reduce some more images which I would like to display, in case the locations are not seen again. bushfighter1 Posted 16 February , 2007 Share Posted 16 February , 2007 Amara CWGC. Panel Detail. East Lancashire Badge. The shrinking doesn't do justice to the carving. Harry
bushfighter1 Posted 16 February , 2007 Share Posted 16 February , 2007 Amara CWGC. The Cross of Sacrifice. The Cross is solitary, but its uprightness is accentuated by the palms. Harry

bushfighter1 Posted 16 February , 2007 Share Posted 16 February , 2007 Amara CWGC. Panel Detail. King's Own Badge. Westmorland Green Slate is much harder to carve than sandstone or limestone, but it resists erosion & climatic effects. This is a fine example of relief carving, a rare skill today. Computers are used now, but they cannot replicate the eyes & hands of yesterday's craftsmen. Harry
