The Cross is solitary, but its uprightness is accentuated by the palms.

King's Own Badge.

Westmorland Green Slate is much harder to carve than sandstone or limestone, but it resists erosion & climatic effects.

This is a fine example of relief carving, a rare skill today.

Computers are used now, but they cannot replicate the eyes & hands of yesterday's craftsmen.post-16018-1171617076.jpg
