Any idea who would have been the Master? Dicks and Hann were the only two married; not a sure thing, but it would indicate they were older (probably, maybe....).

It says there:

Hann, Bert April ?, 1918 Elsie Burdette Lost 1 Capt. Married, 3 children

Lost 1 refers to source = "Lost at Sea Vol I " see:

Hello

A final note.

According to Atlantic ship registry, "Elsie Birdett" as the name spells in the registry, was built in Mahone Bay, NS in 1914 - 118 gross ton, 102 feet long, 25 feet wide, 10 feet deep.
