Wow what a title!

Will have to think this one out, wont be a pic tho, will have to be a narrative.

Believe it or not this my latest figure. Strange coincidence :o

22nd April 1915 soldiers of the French 45th Division were the first soldiers to face a gas attack. This is a 54mm metal figure of a Zouave of that Division.

I have mine ready and waiting to be scanned, but I`m not sure if this`ll be my final entry...

I have illustrated men from 1er Régiment de Marche de Tirailleurs who were in the frontline positions (along with 1st Battalion d'Afrique, zouaves were in the second-line) facind the gas at 5 o`clock in the afternoon on April 22nd...

Although 2nd Ypres is usually remembered from the gallantry of the Canadian troops, the gas attack on the 22nd was mainly focused on French. Germans attacked the Canadians with gas in St Julien on 24th.

Great work so far. Good job, Soren... I`d like to point out couple of things though (SMLEs and Vickers), but I`m afraid I`d losing the spirit.

I'm not sure but didn't the Canadians use Ross rifles and Colt machine guns?

Maybe this what Landsturm is getting at.

Roger.

Hey Soren it's still a good drawing, just change the title to a British unit.

Agreed, a British unit and the first gas attack should do.

Nice model Roger :)

That was what I ment. Remember to do some researching! I always do! The illustration looks very good though ;) Canadians did however sometimes throw away their jammed Ross-rifles and take SMLEs from dead Brits. And yes, at this time Canadians used Colts. And I think their service-cap was more like those of the first BEF... not like Gor-Blimeys.
