Shell case identification help needed

Does anyone recognize this shell case? It measures 120mm long and 76mm in diameter at the open end. On the base, it’s dated 1910, has a symbol made up of three circles, a letter “B” and the number “40”. I’m having no luck with research, with even the country of origin eluding me. Any help with identification would be appreciated!

The 3 circles is the logo for Friedrich Krupp AG who was the famous German manufacturer of artillery guns and cannons ... so most likely a German shell case.

PS. 77mm being their standard Field Artillery calibre

Cheers,  SS

Thank you! With the short length of the case, perhaps this was for a Blockhauskanone?

I’d have said that was a 7.5cm case with that style of primer.

Beautiful shell case with very rare head stamp. The B is for Berndorf, 40 is the Krupp shell case number. Number 40 is intended for Turkey or China. In this example I suspect Turkey.

This is the first shell case with Krupp number 40 I have seen with this layout. Shell case length seems correct, should be 75x118R88.

Thank you for the wonderful information! So, would this shell case have been intended for a mountain gun?
