Date of discharge: 1919  – we believe he worked for army as a quartermaster in Ireland from 1918 to 1920

I am really interested to see if John could have temporarily moved to the 2nd Royal Irish regiment during the Somme.

 He was badly wounded in 1917, and spent 6 months in hospital (gsw to face) and seems to have rejoined the Royal Dublin fusiliers after that. And looks like he transferred from there to mgc in June 1918
