Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 28 December , 2023 Share Posted 28 December , 2023 Wow. There are a lot of names there, and many should be identifiable I'd say. That said, I'm already stuck on No.1 !

His Next of Kin place of residence is given as Whitchurch [Shropshire]. On 8 9 1920 he enlists, in RWF TA as Pte 4181307. He is then aged 30, born Mold. Discharged 11 4 1921 on re-enlistment into 5th Defence Force RWF. https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=S2%2FGBM%2FROYALWELSHFUSILIERS%2FENLISTMENTREGISTERS1920-1946%2FBOOK04%2F0057&parentid=GBM%2FROYALWELSHFUSILIERS%2F045683 That’s a new one on me Hywyn, what was the Defence Force 5th RWF, was it some new and additional (to TA) category of auxiliaries? Perhaps committed to home defence only whereas the new TA was unlike TF committed to overseas if required from the outset. This is just me reading between lines and I’ll be interested to learn what you can dig up.

I imagine that the subject would have had to reenlist with the TA after 90-days if he wanted to go on serving. I wonder if he did.
