Military Medal for James Higgins

I will have a look for Bernard Flynn when I am in Bolton Library next week. I am not hopeful, according to his papers he enlisted in Doncaster but gave his brother Patrick as his NOK. Patrick lived in Farnworth near Bolton.

Thanks Gavin, I did get that one from BNA - the only other entry I managed to get was a wee awards night that took place in James home village of Quarter in 1919 from the local newspaper the Hamilton Advertise that mentions James and three other men who were awarded Military Medals and celebrated.  

Thanks everyone who commented on this thread - really appreciate all the expertise and advice that everyone has given me and I thank you all for taking the time to assist in this research and for posting all the information.
