Agreed looks close - But is it VDH Dilation? And will CWGC and JCCC accept it? Probably the only way to find out is to make an application, and wait. Terry_Reeves Posted 30 October , 2023 Share Posted 30 October , 2023 (edited) For what it is worth, 205082 CSM Hugh Sutton Hinds, Taank Corps died at home 12th October, 1918. He has no CWGC headstone but is commemorated on a family headstone in London Rd Cemetery, Coventry. He is, however, commemorated in the CWGC records. Mitral Stenosis is a disease of the Mitral Valve of the Heart, whereby the mitral valve is narrowed and prevents the normal flow of blood from the Left atrum to the left ventricle. The blood backs up in the left atrium, and further back into the great veins and legs causing swelling (oedema). This therefore is a case of death due to Valvular disease of the heart. His case for commemoraton by the CWGC is uncontestable. Get your case in today. Edit: VDH Dilatation inplies the heart has become dilated as a result of the Mitral Stenosis. This could be confirmed on clinical exaination with a displacement of the apex beat from its normal position. So the cause of his death was the same, due to the same pathology as necessitated his discharge.
